Economic policy for equal rights: Alessandra Faggian joins the working group on Italy's gender equality certification

Alessandra Faggian, Full Professor of Applied Economics at the GSSI – Gran Sasso Science Institute, has been appointed as an expert member of the Permanent Working Group on the Gender Equality Certification, established within the Department for Equal Opportunities of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, as part of the initiatives promoted by the Ministry for Family, Birth Rates and Equal Opportunities. The appointment recognizes her extensive experience and research expertise in labour markets, demography and human capital, with a particular focus on gender policies. As a member of the Working Group, Professor Faggian will contribute her expertise to analytical activities, the development of proposals, and the monitoring of the gender equality certification system.

The gender equality certification system is a measure provided for under Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), as part of the activities of the Department for Equal Opportunities of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. Its aim is to encourage companies to adopt policies and organizational measures to reduce the gender gap and promote greater equity in career opportunities.
